Windshield Replacement

Calgary's gravel highways and Chinook freeze-thaw turn a small chip into a full crack overnight. We don't just glue glass in — we cut out the old urethane, prep the pinch weld against rust, bond OEM-grade glass, and recalibrate the camera that runs your lane-keep and auto-braking. Skip the calibration and your safety systems aim at the wrong horizon.

Process

How we
actually do it.

01

Inspect

Chip or full replacement? We assess crack length, location, and whether it's in the driver's sightline. Small chips out of view we can resin-repair same-day — anything more gets glass.

02

Remove & prep

Old glass cut out, pinch weld cleaned and inspected for rust. Cowl, trim, and rain sensor removed properly — no broken clips, no rattles when you hand it back.

03

Bond

OEM-grade glass set on a fresh bead of high-modulus urethane. Set square, clamped, and left to cure to safe-drive-away strength before it leaves the bay.

04

Calibrate

Full ADAS recalibration of the forward camera so lane-keep, adaptive cruise, and auto-emergency-braking read the road correctly. Documented with a calibration report.

FAQ

Asked &
answered.

  • Can you just repair my chip instead of replacing the whole windshield? +

If the chip is smaller than a loonie, out of the driver's direct sightline, and hasn't spread into a long crack, we resin-repair it — cheaper, faster, and it keeps your factory seal. Once it's cracked across the glass or sitting in your line of sight, replacement is the only safe call.

  • Why does a windshield need 'calibration'? +

Most cars built in the last decade run the forward camera off the windshield — lane-keep, adaptive cruise, automatic braking. New glass shifts that camera by millimetres, which is degrees down the road. We recalibrate it to factory spec so the car aims where it should.

  • Will my insurance cover it? +

Most Alberta comprehensive policies cover glass, often with the deductible waived for repairs. We handle the paperwork and bill most insurers directly — you usually just approve the claim.
